I am Bill Dore and now retired and living in Thailand.

I did my 22 years plus boys service and came out in 1984.

An old mate of mine found me through Facebook and we got talking about old times at West Raynham and it has sort of gone from there.

I served at Cosford Jan 1960 to Jul 61 as a Boy Entrant 39 Entry Air Wireless Mechanic,

Thorney Island Jul 1961 to Jun 63
Muharraq Jun 631963 to Jun 64
Back to Thorney Island Jun to Nov1964
Back to Cosford on AWF 244 and 245 fitter course Now 1964 to Jan 1966
West Raynham Jan 1966 to Jul 68 first on 1 Sqdn for a couple of months then to 54 for the rest
Seletar Jul 68 to Apr 69 in the MU
Apr 69 to Sep 1971 at Tengah, first on 20 Sqdn, then the Air Radio bay and the Ground Radio. I was so bored with the bay
St Mawgan Nov 71 to Feb 72 on 22 Sqdn deep servicing the to A Flt 22 at Chivenor
Wildenrath July 1973 to Jan 76 first in the Electronics Sqdn then Pembroke servicing
St Athan Jan 1976 to Aug 1979 on Vulcan majors
Shawbury Aug 1979 Nov 1980 on Wessex and Whirlwinds
Brize Norton Dec 1980 to Jan 1984 first in the Radio bay then to the VC 10 minors and majors then retirement from the RAF.

As for former RAF airfieds:
RAF Brüggen
RAF Wildenrath
But RAF Laarbruch, is only a few miles away.

hello all im looking for raf crash sites maps for east sussex... in crowborough as the house i live in was crashed into in 1938 by a recon flight and trying to find out more info... thank you ...matthew
