Hi Sakulas, welcome to the forum from another Local! I know Tibenham and have flown in there a few times, I live not to far from Thorpe Abbotts and Horham just down the road. If you ever fancy a wander then drop me a PM. Enjoy the forum

Hi.
Good to have you with us.

With Northern Ireland having been used for a lot of training flights there are, sadly, a number of your fellow nationals buried here after having died through flying accidents.

Best of luck with your efforts!!

Yes, we often tend to forget about the training losses, let alone when on the missions. Thanks.

I suppose it would have to be Tibenham, home of the 445th Bombarment Group. I walk my dog all over the area. Very atmospheric in the morning with the mist. There is still quite a bit left. Just as a footnote my Father in Law was a driver in the RAF when he did National Service. He was attached to the MU at Old Buckenham Aifield, clearing bomb dumps.

Welcome to the forum Sakulas.

Any idea which MU? Evidently Old Buck was used by 231MU (Hockering) 5/45 to 1/48, 94MU (Barnham) 1/48 to 3/50 and 53MU (Pulham) 9/56 to 2/58.

Just curious

Nothing rude about that Zimbob, welcome aboard.

Nice to have someone way up there. Lots of very good stuff in Scotland, un-vandalised by we English :D.

Might be making a trip next year. (not to vandalise!)
