Welcome to AiX Matthew.

There used to be a Sussex Air Crashes website but it seems to be no longer operating.

Apart from here ,a couple of other places worth trying are the Flypast (Key publications) Historic forum.

....or just possibly the RAF Air Historical Branch may be able to help you if you can provide them with an exact location and date.

Hi Folks - My name is Ray. I have been associated with RAF airfields and other units since 1948. During most of this time I have held a pilot`s license and have visited more than 200 airfields both in the UK and Europe
I am happy to share any knowledge that I have of these installations with any other members

Welcome Ray, it's good to have a 'birds eye view' member on AiX. Did you have occasion to land at any former RAF or USAAf airfields?

Hi, I've been pointed at this site as a useful source of information. And from my first look through it is certainly that. It's going to take me a while to get up to speed on my own areas of interest.

Speaking of which, I am particularly interested in the C20 military archaeology of West Norfolk. With a particular interest in bombing decoys, target ranges, defence batteries and defended positions.

I lookm forward to joining in, Al.

Welcome Alistair. I couild mention a number of other members with specific interests in that area, so you'll find plenty on this forum.

BTW where's the above picture?

Plan A is always more effective when the problem you are working on understands that Plan B will involve the use of dynamite

Thanks for the welcome Graham.

The photo is the decoy shelter near Wormegay, Norfolk. One of the decoy airfields for RAF Marham.

Hi Al, welcome to AIX. I am not too far away from you.
Good to see another decoy site shelter - it's similar to the one near me at Deeping, but strikingly different too.

Yes, I'm back(ish).

Hi Al

Welcome to the forum! There is plenty here that to keep you entertained and I am sure you'll enjoy it.

Where abouts it the decoy at Wormegay?

Richard
