It looks good but I think they should have roped off the actual figures to improve photo opportunities. If they are metal I wonder how long before those nice metal thieves nick them?

Maybe some of those paintball mines firing traceable powder would help deter therm?

Mr Barton told us that they will only be there for about two weeks. They were there last year for about two weeks, but we knew nothing about that ? This year Mr Barton was on radio Oxford, last Friday talking about this. I suppose recycled signage is metal ?

Looking back at kebecker's comment about Sevenoaks and Dartford being similar or the same, I suspect they used the same bronze cast and memorial stone. Given the numbers that were made I wonder if there was a catalogue produced by different companies? Or did Kent have a specific source? There were a lost of foundries along the Thames, mainly as part of larger businesses and many would have had spare capacity by the time the memorial building got underway. I wonder if there were any more that used the same cast?

I posted this memorial a few years back but here is a 2019 shot of the war memorial in Iron Bridge, it was just starting to rain so th quality is not that good. The main reason for posting was that it looks very similar to the Sevenokas and Dartford memorials so I suspect that Peters thoughts on a a foundry producing multiple versions may well be on the right track.

Beverley's Hengate Memorial Garden centrepiece is this WW1 memorial

The four corners have figures holding objects in metal, including this one, a nodel biplane

two of the others are a tank and a ship
The models were recreated from photographs during a restoration in 2015
