I took these 13-09-2019. Though whether or not, the above shown ensign as described, is the actual one, I am unsure? The Church Warden there said she wasn't sure either. ''All the flags'' three of them, were moved to the other-end of the church ? Also there was no support for any flag near to the plaque ? There was a lot going-on in the church on Friday, the instruments for a band were already there, speakers, camera's and microphones in the next level up, and people walking around discussing whatever...? A lovely Church indeed !

There was an interesting programme on ITV last night on the search for rellatives of soldiers bodies found on wwi battlefields. They showed the MOD section thats responsible for the search.

Have to agree it was a very emotive episode for all those directly involved-

It also allowed for an interesting insight into the world of the JSCC (Joint Services Compassionate Centre) Imjin Barracks - or RAF Innsworth in old money!

Slightly irritating that the staff were constantly referred to as the "War Detectives" though - as dealing with historical military losses is just one element of their work as they are the "go to" experts for current lost in service casualties as well

A thought provoking documentary all round . . .

Off topic but I noticed the medal office is still at Innsworth.

Based in Gloucester (or is that Gloucester Barracks) I believe.

This is definitely, Imjin Barracks, Gloucester, Gloucestershire (the site of the former RAF Insworth)

Yes the "MOD" Medals Office is also there - having recently communicated with them to chase a LSGM clasp!

The first one was taken while ' feigning a problem crawling along the hard shoulder with the hazard lights on, then stopping for a few seconds ' the Third and Fourth photographs show the Man responsible for this great creation.
