Martin, do the illustrations include any of the sites around Warrington? I know the locations, so the maps are unlikely to be of interest.

I don't think any of the pictures show specific identified sites, it is mainly pictures showing details of sites and equipment from what I remember.

Welcome Dave - Plenty here to help you out - hope we get a mention in the acknowledgements!

Out of curiosity, when you say documentary, is it radio? TV? Or other?

If you have a contact for Sculthorpe I am desperate to arrange a visit there

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. These start out as textual/photographic documentation on the web and are usually picked up by radio or press (someone with budget :)). I do this to create a digital documentary on the history of places, all out of my own pocket, its my extended hobby. After West Raynham, I'm working through a photographic documentary of AWRE Orford Ness which will be fun.

Of course, all contributors (I'll ask for any personal links) and this site will be mentioned in references for the article. The majority of Sculthorpe is open to people just walking around, MOD Police and Command Post HQ is a little off the map but I'll see what can be done. I have a whole load of photos from Sculthorpe waiting, I'll share the link when they are ready.

Thanks, Dave

Sure, I'm more than happy to share these and provide copies if it helps with archives. Where shall I post them? Who would I need to speak to regarding old images from West Raynham? I live outside of Norwich, have you been inside the R3 nuclear bunker at Neatishead?

I've not been in the bunker at Neatishead, its on the list of places to try and organise a visit to sometime, along with the control tower at Sculthorpe. Its just a time thing really, work monday to friday and i'm at Brize once a month on a weekend too!

The ARG Archives are located at Alconbury where we hold the majority of our physical archives, photos, plans, negs, books, documents and reports etc. Photos and info here:

and again here:

If you are able to provide anything of use to the archive it'd be great. Keep on posting the images on the forum or if you are able to put them on disc as well it'd be brilliant.

Details for donation are here;
/community/showthread.php?1682-Archive-Donations-Appeal !

I live near Diss, hope we can arrange a day out sometime.

Progress report on building a small WW1 aerodrome. Life is about compromises, so the little aerodrome I am building in Ohio will have a maintenance shed copied after one at Clairmarais, about 1/2 of a Stow Marie's ready room and a Bessonneau from MacGregor Polytunnels a little later.
The search is on for an RFC refueler, either hand trucked or a trailer - even a photo or plans will do.

The small French cottage is underway as a residence for an old single curmudgeon (me) just at the entrance to the field. Although tentively planned as a sliding door, I am trying to find drawings and the technology for the multi paneled shuttered door to use on the maint. shed.

In addition to the Camel, soon to have a Gnome engine,, a friend on mine with a replica Pup, may go in with me to build one of the ubiquitous BE 2c aircraft.

All advice welcome.
