Hal,
I'm always up for a look around King's Cliffe mate. One of my fave airfields. Let me know if you fancy meeting up.

Cheers,
Steve

I'm going next week after work for a couple of evenings, most likely Mon/Tues, dunno if that's convenient for you or not?

Amiens Prison Raid: The Truth Behind the Legend of Operation Jericho
J-P Ducellier

Wondering if anyone has seen this book out yet over in the UK ? Been looking for a copy but so far all stores say its unavailable . Plus I want to say thanks to members of this fine forum..I have been able to get in touch with the film maker of The Amiens Prison Raid and acquire a copy. Much thanks for giving me his address in the UK. Still thrilled after my June 2010 visit to the Amiens site on my way to Normandy ! After seeing the 1944 attack on film in a snow covered setting.....the place has changed a bit.............. thanks again here forum members for your assistance ! Hope that new book will be out soon !

I note several suppliers are selling it as 'awaiting delivery !' Borders Bookshop states publication date is September 30 2010. Evidently it's translated from French - is this causing the delay ?

Plan A is always more effective when the problem you are working on understands that Plan B will involve the use of dynamite

Why the extreme reserve and caution on a book written by an author, I assume you know nothing about. Are you thinking Denis, that it will slate the raid, perhaps suggest that it killed more French, than that escaped? It might also by the same token, be very positive about the raid for all we know. Is it the word 'Truth' that puts you off - which rather suggests that all previous accounts are incorrect?

You can tell a builder from an archaeologist by the size of his trowel. Mine is a small one!

You assume wrong.

Are you thinking Denis, that it will slate the raid,

Perhaps.

suggest that it killed more French, than that escaped?

Nope.

It might also by the same token, be very positive about the raid for all we know.

I very much doubt it.

Is it the word 'Truth' that puts you off - which rather suggests that all previous accounts are incorrect?

No.

I merely stated that I will read it with extreme caution and reserve, and that If I do read it it will be by borrowing a copy sometime, either from a library or another source.
I wont say anything else on the subject either on here, or by PM, untill I have seen a copy.
