Hi Catherine. Best of luck with your two projects, have you heard the latest theory about Glenn Miller? Apparently he was a spy, but on our side this time [ As opposed to sending the Germans coded messages in his music as an earlier report stated ] His real name was Mueller and he was of German descent, could also speak the language. Eisenhower sent Miller [Mueller] on a mission to do a deal with the nazi's, but Hitlers top man caught him, tortured him, killed him and threw his body on the street. Regards your interest in aviation archaeology Google, Aircrew Remembrance Society. There is plenty to see on that site !!! Best Wishes. Paul.

Hi Catherine, welcome to the site. As for your Glenn Miller (or to be exact Alton Glenn Miller) book, well I think you should only write in when in the mood.

Hi Airfields Man and Canberra

I have heard the latest theory yes, I must admit and I've also been advised to 'be careful' when researching Glenn by someone on Facebook, don't know if this guy is being serious or just another crank to be honest, I'm not easily put off doing any research, I like to get to the bottom of things if I am able to do so. Glenn never used to be liked to be called by his first name, if memory serves me correctly none of his family did. Will check out the Remembrance Society as well, great stuff.

Thanks everyone.
Catherine

The after the battle book is quite a ggod read, your local public library should have a copy. Its quite odd to read that he did a concert at one base and in the audience was James Stewart.
