Hi all
I'm Jon and although I joined a while ago have only just started using this excellent site. I'm an Air Traffic Controller at Ronaldsway Airport in the Isle of Man, formerly RAF Ronaldsway and HMS Urley. I'm researching the history of ATC here (been going on a continuous basis since 1937) and I publish the results on my Island Images website:

There is a separate section for aircraft pictures from the 1990s to present day:

and for the ATC history:
www.ronaldswayatc.info
There are still many questions I need to find answers to, hopefully some of you folks might know them!

Welcome to the forum Jon. My main interest at present is bombing ranges and The Isle of Man was "blessed" with more than its fair share during the war and just after. You have already answered one question on the lesser known ranges with the phot0 of the partly uncovered arrow on Kallow Point.
Hopefully the other forum members can answer those questions.

Welcome to AiX Jon. We have a few more ATC (Now and Then) members on the forum but your location gives the forum an 'agent' in an area (IoM) that has a great WW2 history and we welcome your feedback. I hope that you have time to read through the Isle of Man related threads such as Jurby and Ronaldsway.
Now to play catch-up with your Posts. Like PNK I too have an interest in air weapons ranges of WW2 so you will find IoM related threads in that Section of the Forum via the menu.

Thanks for the welcome, I joined a while ago and browsed through, but forgot to bookmark the site and lost track of it! I have a couple of 1950s charts on my website that show the ranges around the IOM then, you may have come across them before, but they're in the 1950s section of my ATC History at: www.island-images.co.uk/ATC/zRon1950s/z1950s.html
They are from a 1951 copy of the RAF Radio Facility Charts handbook that I was lucky enough to find on Ebay a while back.

Jon,
I had a good look at your ATC site and did indeed notice the charts. Although it shows all five of the Jurby bombing ranges I thought at least two were out of use by then - something else to check, although chart were always out of date by the time they were published. If you have any more of the 1951 charts I would love to see them.

my handle is 'award489'..i've been spotting since 1956 [army service interrupted 1959-1971]..my main INTERESTS are military[my brother edited the mach3 usmil books until 2012]..civil[ie:-airline/biz spindles if on airfield at time..no point having a database and ignoring data!!]
