Hello!

About 20 years ago I visited some old airfield in Great Britain and since then the ARG is well known for me. My interest in old airfield started during my military service with the German Army Airforce and since then I'm involved in documentation of historic airfield in Bavaria. (The Free Republic of Bavaria is a state of Germany)

Now I've joined the forum, because I've a very special question about wireless equipment used by the US Army Air Force in 1945/46 for communication between tower and airplanes.

Best Regards
Bavarius

Welcome to AiX Bavarius. It is nice to have a member reporting from Bavaria so if you have images of military airfields both WW2 and Cold War they will be of interest here.

We have several threads here:

Hi Bavarius
Welcome to the forum

One of our students on last years TP course had a very nice Royal Bavarian Air Force badge on his flight suit ;)

Similar to this one but perhaps better quality ...

The Charley Heritage Group has uncovered the WW2 history of the Coalville Outstation of RAF 80 Wing that was located in a field in Charnwood Forest. We are following leads to the precise locations of other 80 Wing Outstations like Scole, Mundesley, Mow Cop, Hagley and Templecombe. Be glad to hear from anyone with knowledge of the fields where 80 Wing set up its 'beambending' sheds.
