Hi all
Here is my introduction to this forum and website. My name is Stephen Tipler i am 50 years old and currently serving as a crew manager at RAF Mildenhall fire dept having previoulsy served at RAF Manston in Kent, i moved to North Norfolk in 1995 from Ramsgate my home town. I am interested in WW1 (Western Front) and WW2 airfields in this region. I only discovered this website the other night and found it so fascinating that i signed up and hope to find out more information on this subject and exchange information with other like minded people. I don`t know who lives near me but it would be great to meet up with other people and go out and to the various airfields. I have only just recently become a member of the Friends of Thorpe Abbotts and hope to get involved down there.

Welcome to the Forum Stephen.

Do you have a favourite airfield other that Thorpe Abbots, you'll find many people on here specialise in particular airfields or subjects.

Hi Chris
Thank you for the welcome, at the moment i am travelling around the various airfields in my area (Little Snoring, Langham, Foulsham etc) just to see what is left and taking a few pics for my own interest. Then i found this website, and so i may be able to send in some pics and hopefully contribute to the archive and find out what some of the existing buildings are. Also i hope in the end to meet some other like minded people in this area and go out as a group.

Steve

Hi Steve, welcome to AIX

I knew when I saw your username that you must be a Kentish man... Or is it a man of Kent?
I seem to remember being told that there is an important difference but I can never remember what it is!

Yes, I'm back(ish).
