We are all a friendly bunch, I guess most people hadn't seen your post yet! There is a thread on Hullavington in the Wiltshire Airfields part of the forum, a search should bring it up and it would be worth asking the question on the thread too.
Karting is great fun, had a go at one of my local tracks last week, Red Lodge in Norfolk - my arms and legs were aching for a few days afterwards!!
Welcome - hope you get the answers you're after. Love Hullavington, know very little of its history but had some cousins who lived in Stanton St Quintin in the 70s and 80s and we used to get a special pass to play tennis on site, except my aunt got cross with me as I thought the ?RAF men dropping out of the basket of a hot air balloon in the next field with parachutes on far more interesting. Think they played tennis in one of the hangars once? Anyway, will stop rambling as you haven't joined this forum to hear about tennis!
Just joined tonight I have always been interested in the RAF for as long as I can remember,my main area of interest is MT and missile systems im also a scale modeller.
Dont Know Peter always been interested in military vehicles but the Raf ones were always more appealing, had an uncle in the RAF Police and think watching the old war movies added to it, plus they had more interesting types such as the Nuclear stuff which is a particular area of interest.
...and slightly more elite when compared to Army military vehicles. With an interest in 'nuclear' weapon transport you should have data on Hippos and Pantechnicons.
