Thanks Dave, great pics of Gosport, what history that airfield had, er.......at the risk of sounding a little biased!. I remember when just a wee nipper watching the Dragonfly helicopters from the Rowner lane gate, just before they moved to Lee on Solent (HMS Daedulas). It may be of interest to you that I have contributed to the Key forum site on possible Wyvern burial sites at Gosport, with suggestions on where to dig if the group who are searching for the aircraft finally start digging!, just look for Gerry R in the historical section.

Dave, you may remember myself giving you details of the Hunter GA 11 that ended up in the Solent, attempting to take off from Lee airfield, due to a blocked pitot tube, which gave the pilot a false speed reading on his take run, he ejected safely. I also remember could not give you the serial number but managed to obtain the code for you, (732?).

To PETERTHEEATER, I have travelled alot around the UK, rest assured Scotland will not be ignored with my modest contributions, both narrative and photo, which hopefully yourself, Dave, and the others will find of interest.
best regards, Gerry.

I was, in the mid 60's, employed in the meteorological office, based at RRE Great Malvern. We were involved in thunderstorm research. Pershore was considered a satellite station We had a dopplar radar based there. I also watched the Oxfords doing circuits and bumps, I was led to believe they were testing blind landings and take offs.
