Yes Gary, that is how I remember it. If, and when, I ever get back to MO, I shall stand you a beer or two!

That's great Denis. I couldn't think of a better way to spend an evening. Oh wait, just thought of a better way to spend an evening, but it still sounds like a good time.
Never been to Hannegan's; always open to trying new pubs!

Hi Everyone,

My name is Tony Roberts and although originally from Gainsborough I now live in Canada. I am specifically interested in RAF Blyton and would appreciate links to fotos of the old buildings as I worked there in 1961. I recently took some "non to professional" fotos of the Mynarski Lanc when it stopped over in North Bay, Ontario and to hear the Merlins again after so many years was heart rendering.

Hi Peter, I worked at the farm "Blyton Grange" (North West Corner) as a 15 year old farm labororer/trainee manager. Francis Revill (then owner) owned a large piece of the airfield proper and most of the main buildings. I spent many hours "scoping" taters into a riddle and in what was, I am almost certain, one of three emergency vehicle sheds. Directly across the road was the hospital which we kept hundreds of tons of Barley and wheat. In the early days I once got lost on a tractor in the South East corner near the still existing and much fotographed guardhouse. I was literally looking for a haystack in a pea-souper :-)
As part of my research I have laid out to scale (using Autocad) the layout of the field and buildings from memory. This is offered to the group in ACAD or PDF format by simply dropping me your reg email address for the attachment. Being new to the site I am not sure if I can show them on here yet.

Hi all, my name is Bryan. I found your site by accident whilst looking for info and images of an old RAF site 61MU RAF HANDFORTH, which I grew up near in my very young days. It always fascinated me. Anyway, I live in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. I have a general interest in WWII and post war aeroplanes. Not a fanatic though. Old disuses airfields are a bit of a fascination. I was in the ATC as a teenager, and later joined the British Army for 6 years, but thats a long time ago now. :-D
Hope to post the occasional comment as I navigate my way around the site.
