Still prefer Boddingtons, though I did introduce my Michegan colleagues to Sam Smith's Old Brewery Bitter in Detroit. They never looked back.

All this talk of beer! Surprised no one has mentioned that St Louis is the home of Bud. Having worked for Budweiser UK (London) I can tell you that the water entering the Mortlake Brewery is known as City Water. That destined to become Bud is then doctored to make it identical to St Louis water.Yes Gary, that is how I remember it. If, and when, I ever get back to MO, I shall stand you a beer or two!

Just to add to the discussion of beer, I'm originally from Milwaukee, "beer capital of the world." Milwaukee was the home of Miller, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Schlitz and Blatz. My Dad worked for Schlitz but preferred to drink Blatz. Growing up as a teen in Milwaukee, I preferred any beer I could get my hands on!
These days, my beer is George Killian's Irish Red, a beer with an Irish heritage, originally brewed at Lett's Brewery in Enniscorthy, Ireland, in 1864. I did try a Guinness several years ago, but that was a bit too thick for my tastes.
