I see from your post that you have mentioned only the more permanent airfields but your area had also a number of Advanced Landing Grounds used to support the invasion of Europe. These were temporary grass but often with artificial landing strips such as metal tracking.

What's a 'GP set' leemingboy? If it was a transmitter it would be the T1154, the R1155 was the receiver.

PETERTHEEATER exactly why ive come onto this forum, we are trying to locate as many as possible. I have a couple of WWI RAF AMps of the south coast and the SW they have points marked on them, i can scan them and post them onto the forum if they are any use. They will be big files though, mayb as a PDF.
Anyway id be glad for some information.
Is the a list of Airfields on the forum?

I'm Gary and have been collecting WW II mititaria for over twenty years. My main interest was originally in WW II US uniforms and equipment. Some time ago I shifted my focus to WW II Canadian and British uniforms, kit and weapons; even began reenacting the Queen's Own Rifles of Canada. About 7 years ago, I bought my first RCAF Officer's uniform and have been strictly collecting RCAF ever since. I have been researching No. 410 and No. 425 RCAF squadrons and the English airfields they were stationed at for some time and hope this site will help me in that research.

Welcome to AiX Gary; we can almost certainly help with the airfields and I should not be surprised if some of our members are collectors of militaria too.

410 Squadron were somewhere in Scotland and 425 Sqn were at Dishforth. The latter squadron had the motto JE TE PLUMERAI (I shall pluck you) which I have no doubt was corrupted many times:)
