Hi Watchkeeper although I'm located in Norfolk the company I work for rents an office on one of the dispersed sites at Keevil - is that one of your local fields ? Anyway, welcome to the Forum !

Hi Shadow1, I know of Keevil - my most local field is Yatesbury.

Watchkeeper if you are out and about round Keevil I'd be interested in any info or pictures. There is good info about the site here : www.atlantikwall.co.uk/

The firm I work for rents a small office that is in the former building 217 (officers bath house !) on a private industrial estate on dispersed site No3 just outside Steeple Ashton. I don't get over to the office very often but some time I must go and have a proper look round Keevil and its dispersed sites as it looks like there is loads to see.

I've never been to Yatesbury but from what I've read on here it seems an interesting field with a long history.

All the best.

Hi all,

By chance I bumped into REF at Mildenhall today and he pointed me towards this site. Also a big thanks to him for letting me and my friends have a good look at all the maps in his boot. Now thats something you don`t come across every day...

Looking forward to having a look around and seeing what everyone else is up to and some of the sites visited. I`m local to the old RAF Fairlop and RAF Chigwell stations and have been known to have a wonder to other locations. I`ll be posting my pictures of them shortly.

Regards,

Tony

Welcome to the forum Tony. Fairlop was a disaster when I visited. I bought a 1:25,000 OS map and it showed runways still in place. In my naivety I thought they would be there when I visited, sadly it was completely changed. I know now that maps aren't up to date in all aspect but this was in the mid 1980s, or was it 90s! Without a photograph I can't honestly remember :)

Welcome to the forum, you are not that far from my location, and have probably wandered the hallowed ground of a certain RAF nightfighter airfield locally!

Hi Tony, great to meet up with you earlier and good to see you on the forum. As you can see, there is plenty to look at on here - I hope you enjoy it!! :-D

Denis - I said to Tony to drop you a line regarding Chipping Ongar as you were fairly local to the airfield!

Cheers

Richard
