After growing up on several RAF camps (both UK and overseas) I settled in Lincoln...thats when I started discovering all the abandoned WW2 airfields and the history behind them, an interest thats still with me nearly 30 years later!
Always up for an explore and of course pictures along the way!
Welcome Vespretta - I am guessing you are into your MOD scene too with a username like that? Pleased to hear you are enjoying the forum and I'll look forward to reading your posts
Hello everyone, I am the Secretary of the Ridgewell Airfield Commemorative Museum. Ridgewell Airfield started life in 1942 with Stirling bombers of the RAF 90th Squadron. In June 1943 the base was handed over to the USAAF where B17's of the 381st Bomb Group stayed for 20 months.
If I can help answer any questions about this old airfield or about the 381st then please conatct me.
Mike
