Hi, i'm Nick. the reason i signed up is for some information on GEC za 105/2b light spares. i look after 3 here in Burnham on sea which are being used as transit lights for shipping into the river Parret. unfortunately i dropped one of the red lenses today and need to find a replacement.. can anyone help?

I think that will be 512 Sqn, Lynn. RAF Squadron numbers went up to 695 (with a strange exception at 1435). Dakota equipped 512 Sqn was at Broadwell from 14 February 1944 to 31 March 1945, when it went to Evère, France.

Welcome to the site.

And as for 1435, they were the "faith hope and charity" flight in Malta. They were raised to squadron status basically as a commendation for the defence of Malta.

Arrived here via the Pillbox Study Group Forum and a link to the book on Airfield Defence. Used to live at North Weald and had a good poke around those amazing reinforced pillboxes while there. Now stuck in Southend on Mud!

Welcome Alec, pillboxes on AiX usually cover airfield related defences but we drift into gun sites and balloon sites etc too.

Should be something to interest you.

I have come to this site via Derelict Places. I have spent the past 25 years photographing aircraft and airshows. Along with this I have an interest in exploring long disused airfields with my most recent being Worthy Down in Hampshire. I look forwards to looking through the posts here and hope to be able to contribute.
