Welcome to the forum. I'm 5 and a bit from first retirement (old company pension at 60) but 10 and a bit from current company. Pensions is one of my biggest worries as the rosy view painted when I started work is slighty muddy now! If the government cut the public sector pensions so they were in line with private sector that would save the 25% required I'm sure :)

Your sleeping accomodation in the tower didn't look too healthy either that mattress was nasty.
I think another visit is called for though.

LOL I saw that there in Dec 08. Thank goodness for the cozy room at Alconbury during my very brief stay.

Sorry thought it was Carnaby whod posted it!!! I still stand by what I said, the troops pensions arent that brilliant, unlike a lot of the civil service.

Yep that long. Yes I did see the graffiti getting good photos of it was tough. Also visited Polebrook and noted the wall art is aging as well. Sad

If you did less than 22 years before 75 then I sorry to say that at the moment you get diddly squat. It was only in 75 that pensions were introduced for those who served for more than 5 years, in 88 it was changed to more than 2 years service for a pension. There has been talk of pensions for those who served less than 22 years prior to 75, but dont hold your breath! Last I heard was talk of a lump sum. And I got my pension after 22 years, but I actually served 23 years and 3 months, so I reckon Im due another year and a quarters money!
