Hello everyone. Been lurking on the edges of this site for some time. Have visited a few Airfields amongst other military installations and enjoyed taking pictures and learning about their history. Its a great site and a credit to the people who run it.

Photos are no problem. Inside or outside of buildings?
Both! There is a discussion somewhere on the forum about hand operated winches installed on hangar stanchions and used to wind down the original light fittings to enable maintenance. Have any of the hangars at SM got these?
Have been a frequent visitor to this great resource of airfield knowledge for some time.
As a member of the Airfield Construction Corps I do a lot of research on WW2 UK airfields with a view to replacing the generics found in Microsofts Combat Flight Simulator 3 with something more akin to the real thing. All the work of our small group is available freely to other flightsimmers through such sites as Sim Outhouse - www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/forumdisplay.php?f=7
.
I live and work in Devon and am now within 6 years of retirement unless they move the goal posts again.
