Having worked at what was then RAE Llanbedr (1969 - 1977) as a radio Engineer I still have an interest in the Fairey Firefly, Gloster Meteor, GAF Jindivik, EE Canberra and DH Sea Vixen all of which have been droned and with the exception of the Canberra have been flown from Llanbedr at one time or another.
Other interests include music, computers, preserved railways and good documentaries on TV.
got an album by pink, lol i was asking about bowlee, because i used to live about 500 yards from it when i was a kid, it was dissused during all my chilhood, and what a playground it was. fantastic massive hangars, grass covered airaid shelters, loads of living quarters left up. Good Afternoon Everybody
Having just joined the group here is my introduction. Living in Norfolk for all of the war and with a family service background, it was almost inevitable that I should develop an interest in military aviation. My particular enthusiasm for military vehicles was started when I saw a collection of airfielld vehicles models during a Wings for Victory display. I moved to Bristol in the late fifties to work in the aircraft industry; this gave me the opportunity to attend many air displays. Whilst most people recorded just the aircraft, I photographed in addition the vehicles and support equipment. I quickly learnt that additional emergency vehicles were drafted in to augment the local resources and it was quite common to see the same vehicle and crew at consecutive displays ! Now retired, I am slowly computerising my records and scanning the photos, some of which I will be posting on the forum
