Hi John

Great to see you on the forum - I am also a member of the strut, but a non-pilot member!

I hope you find the forum of interest and no doubt I'll see you up at Priory Farm soon!

Hello jude1 and welcome aboard. You'll find a few of the more senior members on here were in the mob about the same time as your brother, what is his history?

Pete

Welcome jude1, presumably you have some questions that you want to ask on behalf of your brother?

Hi everyone, I currently work at Blackpool airport and like all things aviation. Driving around the airfield got me wondering about the old buildings of the past, I have started collecting pictures etc and would like share info.
John

Hi John,

As part of my work I have been around Squires Gate recording the surviving WWII buildings. These will eventually be placed in the Lancashire Historic Environment Record. There are plenty of published works covering the history of Squires Gate and the RAF museum holds several layout plans of the airfield.

Cheers Pete

Hi there,

I am Peter Schofield, a professional archaeologist based in Lancashire with a passion for WWII military sites.

At present I am recording surviving structures at ten military aviation/airfield sites in the current county of Lancashire for the Historic Environment Record. In addition I have been recording surviving military buildings at RAF Riccall in Yorkshire.
