Sorry for the delay in responding Peter - going to try and get some images up later today of Charterhall.

The Bomb Stores were located in and adjacent to what the RAF plan names as 'Gullet Plantation' at NT947343, about half a kilometre due north of Redscar Bridge.

Hello Skip, Good to know that you've found us, welcome to the forum. I too think that is a unique way to get a name. As for Bury St Edmunds, I think it's a lovely place [Been there literally hundreds of times] especially the Abbey Gardens with the 94th BG memorial. The control tower museum is excellent !! I'm sure if you get the chance to visit you'll enjoy what surviving wartime buildings still remain, also the Flying Fortress Pub. :-D

The Dead got memorials, The living got time.

Just discovered this site, looks very good for information so far.

I have an interest in all things 8thAF, and always enjoy a snoop around dis-used WW2 airfields.

Location for home is RAF Bomber County.

Included in my 1st post is a selection of shots I have taken over the last 6 years or so, please enjoy.

Welcome to the forum Martyn. Thanks for posting the pics. Still not sure why Coleby tower looks better now than when I saw it in the 1970s.
