As a relative, you should be able to get a copy of his service records from the MoD. I'm not sure of the department that deals with these requests but if no one on this forum can help with that I suggest you post on the RAF Commands Forum.

HI big al welcome from another Alan . Waltham still retains the look & feel of a wartime bomber station so you should find plenty to see .
You can walk most of the airfield access is from the east side from the main road . the tower is still in situ on the west side along with a T2 hanger . I belive that there are some airfield related memorabila & photes in a small musium at the windmill site just north of the arfield on the west side . But i think this is only open from the spring or ealy summer . Theres also memorial to 100 sqd in the village .
