Hi all

Just joined the forum. I live barely half a mile from the remains of RAF Charterhall, about 13 miles from the remains of RAF Winfield and 17 miles from the remains of RAF Milfield, the latter being in Northumberland.

Have done a fair bit of exploring of the Scottish airfields (but still much to do!) and haven't yet ventured to Milfield.

Have managed to get some nice plans from the RAF museum, and looking forward to sharing my photographs and getting some opinions from people more knowledgeable than me.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum. In case you have come across this the RCAHMS aerial photo site has some good coverage of both airfields from 1946, just type in Winfield or Charterhall in the search box to see coverage. Examples below - aerial.rcahms.gov.uk/worldwide/Scotland.php

Winfield - aerial.rcahms.gov.uk/database/record.php...2vh0fa0n8u73su7murp3

Charterhall - aerial.rcahms.gov.uk/database/record.php...2vh0fa0n8u73su7murp3

Can you not download your phone images to the computer, then use the 'manage attachments' button in 'Go advanced' to upload them here?

Hi, Welcome. I'm from the other side of the water at Neston on the Wirral. Because of you I've been looking at RAF Woodvale and it's decoy for several hours, it's a local one that I've not looked at before !

cheers, hope to hear from you.

Welcome James T, we don't get enough coverage of Scottish airfields on AiX simply due to lack of local contributors so I look forward to your inputs.

Still many well preserved buildings and structures to be found.

If you have the Record Site Plan for Milfield does it show a bomb store?
