What other airfields have you worked on?

Phil, there was a bit of a discussion on the Bodmin stopline over on the PSG forum back in June/July. Seems that not a lot is known about this one.

Welcome to the forum Stuart. I was a bit surprised to see you were right about there not being a thread on here yet for Stanton Harcourt - a definite opening for you there!

I have only worked at BRS grew up at the place in the late 70's loved it and eventually got taken on full time in 82.
Ranger was indeed the call sign of our ops vehicle on the airfield carrying out Bird control runway inspections etc I just modified it to Ranger 1 and adopted it, then they changed it to Ops numbered call signs not a good idea really as they are not task orientated.
As regards the old aircraft pens Carnaby, the guy showing you around may of been Mike, we still have some left depite all the expansion work, not signed the petition yet but will

My Father Wm ( Bill ) Painting worked at I believe was this place during the war. He was an aircraft fitter. We were evacuated fron Coventry in 1941 to Sileby so my dad could work there.

I am trying to confirm this, as he has passed away many years ago, and I am doing my family history, and came across some pictures which I believe were taken there, with Bill, and some of his co workers.

Can anyone help me research this, or have some input into this ??

Hi Russ, I believe there is a memorial on the Army Barracks at Leconfield which you'd need to arrange access to, someone else maybe able to confirm this

hello everybody i live on a housing estate that used to be the site of RAF GRAVESEND and am trying to find as much imformation as i can about its history during the war years i would be grateful of any more imfomation on the subject
