That was a good show Phil, Sadly the Lightning (XP753) crashed 16 days later killing the pilot Flt Lt Thompson.
I've just finished scanning the last two of my negatives from that show:

IIRC the Lightning pilot was killed whilst doing an authorised display at Scarborough.

Sorry typo error, it should read an unauthorised display.

Correct, I think he stalled the jet at low level manoeuvring hard:-

There's not been much activity in this thread for a while. A Friend of mine has an amazing collection of old airshow photos that he took from the late 70's & onwards & he's shared stacks of them with me so I thought I'd share some of them on here. (All photos taken by Rob Feeley)

British Airways stopped Concorde making display appearances at the the end of the 1988 season due to the extra display flights eating away at the airframe fatigue life.
It did still appear occasionally after 1988 at shows such as IAT & Finnigley but these where chartered passenger pleasure flights & all the show audience got to see was the take off & landing later, No fly pasts.
