Possibly 3 inch RPs? Thought they were bits of pipe at first, but on closer examination you could see lugs and flush fitting screws.

Anyone know what this is, found at Skipsea/Low Skirlington, I think it could possibly be a part from a Sherman Tank?? The one i've been banging on about we found the wheels, tracks, hatch from, quite a lot of writing on it for such a little thing, it says on it:-

SMC 4/1942 /| (thats supposed to be the war dept arrow by the way.)[/QUOTI

digging on the ww2 riffle range in porthcawl, can anyone identify the item in the yellow box, its quite heavy and dosent feel like part of a clip, but a 303 fits inside the recess perfectly

looking at it now, that makes perfect sense lol thanks so much for identifying the item, back down the range next week weather permitting, i have a tip on an ammo dump from the bloke who dug the hole in 1956! why did they not recycle the metal?? seems a waste to dump everything, although it was quite a march to the nearby camp..
