More from Duxfords recent Battle Of Britain Show.
Seventeen Spitfires (15 & 2 Seafires) over Duxford was just brilliant. The sequences of flypasses in formation & tail chases is one of the most memorable airshow moments in recent years. All 17 aircraft recieved individual rounds of applause on landing -
I think thats what you could call a 'slightly loose' formation -
Ok I admit these aren't all Spits but what a great way to commerate the RAF & the Battle Of britain, The Reds & the BBMF fighters -
Great photos there Stevie we went on the Saturday, so no Red Arrows. My photographs,as usual didn't come out that good at all but I'll post a few up later in the shadow of yours

Thanks Paul. It really was wall to wall Spitfires during that Battle Of Britain sequence wasn't it? Loved it. Nobody knew where to look next. They where everywhere.
Please post up your pics. There's a serious lack of new photos being posted up on AiX these days.

That's the best I could do at extreme zoom range, plus they are always too far away at Duxford.
Also shooting in to the sun for most of the day but a very good air show, and long may it remain so.

Nice pics mate. Some good formation shots there That's a big Spitfire in the last couple .
It's best to watch the aircraft at Duxford at either of the far ends of the runway/crowdline, the M11 end or the tank bank end (deffo my fave spot). The aircraft are so much closer at these ends. The main section of the crowdline archs around the jet pans & taxi ways so you end up quite a distance from the display line & runways especially in the centre of the crowdline. Plus the VIP enclosures get in the way a bit as well. The tank bank everytime for me.
