Supermarine Spitfire

When a radio/radar was being dismantled on Cyprus some years ago, a box was found by the techies. On asking what it was. Nobody new anything about it. Even the Americans new nothing. So a pickax was put to it. The electronics inside came from the east. Now how did they get it there.

Coming home from work i spotted this Spitfire, a stones throw from my home in Pyle Bridgend in the car park of AMSS aircraft mantanance, they make steps and other plane related items.
cant find out what its doing there, also i live in a part of the country thats usually ON FIRE !! so bit worried about it being left there,
any clue why its there?

I believe that the money raised by the City of Oxford Fighter Fund in 1940 purchased Spitfire P8345 that appears to have been built in May41 at Castle Bromwich and then struck off by April43 ~ if I've interpreted the following history file entry listed below correctly.

I don't understand how it came to be under NO 45MU ( RAF Kinloss ) before going to 222 Squadron in May41 ?

Interesting ~ Would therefore the flight from Castle Bromwich to Kinloss to Duxford have been treated as part of its fighter station prep process so that any problems could be resolved before entering combat ?
