Been a lurker round here for a while, moved house, computer packed up and took with it my account details! So I've re-registered and am looking forward to chipping in occasionally. I'm a military aviation enthusiast, have lots of useless information in my head about WW2, even more about airfield histories and the RAF / USAAF, and for a living I work on Mrs Windsor's latest toys in the heart of the fens.
Joined today, great passion for the U.S. in WW2, been restoring ex U.S. MVs since 1984, when I bought a Jeep in very rough condition, at that time I did not this would lead me over Europe with the vehicles, attending D-Day events in Normandy, been to the U.S. just for Military Vehicle events, having met them 'over here'. 1992 was a great year, attending many U.S.veteran reunions when they returned to their old airfields and transporting them in my GMC CCKW, they were great guys, unfortunately their number is dwindling as the years roll by, but we should not forget them, if only a complete WW2 base have been preserved in memory.
Thats about it.
