Hi all, I am currently investigating the crash of Wellington X LN281 from No 14 OTU RAF Market Harborough. The aircraft was spotted low flying with 1 propellor feathered during x-country training flight. It crashed into a field near to Melton Mowbray between Saxby Rd and Thorpe Arnold after hitting a hay stack. Exploded into flames.
Any information such as photographs, artefacts etc relating to the aircraft, crash site and crew members would be greatly appreciated as this is being investigated with the hope of creating a memorial to the loss of the crew members.
Hallo everybody. I am an Italian modeller now working on a ww2 jeep. Let me replay the message:
Dear fellows: I am planning to built a 1/35 scale jeep and to convert it to a rescue vehicle. Unfortunately I have only found some B&W pictures. I think the bonnet is painted in red over a OD overall colour; the side fire extingushers should be carbon-dioxide, but cannot recognize colours of stripes. Furthermore I seek info about rear seat equipment. Thanks in advance, dedox (Italy).
Welcome attached is the JEEP in its original form, over the years individual vehicles had slight changes to the equipment. CO2 extinquisher behind each front wheel, 2x2 gallon foam extinquishers carried in place of the jerrycan holder. In the back 2 more 2 gal foam ext, 2 x asbestos blankets in containers, first aid kit. assorted small tools. The colour depends on the year take your pick, choose a year and I will tell you the official colour for that year.
