I'm a new member and the site comes highly recommended. I live in central southern England. I am interested in local aviation archeology and spend time looking around the New Forest and Dorset sites. I also travel the country accompanied by the relevant copy of Action Stations. I am gradually working my way through the former East Anglian aerodromes.

Welcome Dan Dare. With a name like that I would think Digby would be your favourite airfield :D. From Wiki
Digby (Albert Fitzwilliam Digby) was Dan's Wigan-born batman[. Rotund and sometimes bumbling, he provided comic relief. He was fiercely loyal and the only character apart from Dan to appear in every story. His favourite recreation was sleeping and he was fond of traditional English food. His nearest relative was his Aunt Anastasia, after whom Dan named his spaceship.

He even looks

Plan A is always more effective when the problem you are working on understands that Plan B will involve the use of dynamite

Hi guys,

Jack here and justed wanted to say hello!

I wear many hats - dad, owner of HMVF, Pathfinder Distribution and pathfinderonline but more importantly I was just doing some research on the 745th tank battalion based here in Dorset prior to D-Day. The reason for my research is because I am holding an event Armour and Embarkation again here in Dorset armourandembarkation this year we have over 20 WWII tanks attending.

Sometime back I had a map of all the marshalling camps in Dorset but since my move I just can't find it

Best wishes,

Jack.

OK, OK - I'll be back in the Clubhouse in time for lock-up and lights out. Flipping heck, I only popped out for a short break to get some fresh 8thAF aviation air. How did you find out? It won't have to go on my record, will it?

N.O.S.
