Hi, I'm afraid this isn't my first post, but my second. I was lured here by a Google search about a Halifax operating on SOE duties that crashed not too far away from where I now live & work, just north of Saumur in the Loire Valley, France.

My name is Stuart, or Stu more usually and I've lived in France with my wife and family since 2005, buying a lovely old farmhouse that has three gites and a small campsite, effectively retiring from the rat-race!

I'm passionate about all things WW1 &2, and I'm keenly gathering more information about the wars in my area. I'm fortunate to have one of Europe's biggest and best armoured museums on the doorstep, and I thoroughly enjoy the yearly air show, or 'fly-in' at Marcé.
