Welcome to AiX Janine.

As you can see, we are airfield enthusiasts and should be able to help you with your research especially sites related to RAF 100 Group.

Why has it taken me so long to find this fantastic site?

I have what is bordering on an obsession for all things Bomber Command 1939-1945, particularly 4 and 6 Group operations, airfields and UK crash sites.

I was struggling to find valid real time airfield information but now I think my troubles are over!

Quentin

Hi Quentin, Well we've been here a long time, I'm glad that you have now found us as there's loads on here to satisfy your obsession. I too have a similar complaint though not only for the RAF. The USAAF is also my illness, but as you said 1939-1945. I have no postwar-coldwar interest at all !!

The Dead got memorials, The living got time.

Thank you so much for the warm welcome ... already I feel as if I am making friends here.

You ask about the RAF 100 Group Association Reunion event at Norfolk. It happens 13/14/15 May 2011. Our Home is City of Norwich Aviation Museum, bottom of Norwich airfield. It's a very full programme, and friends and family as well as veterans are welcome. But you need to become a member if you are interested in coming. Membership is £15 per year, and you get a membership card which is your free entry to the Museum, four copies of our magazine which I produce and send out worldwide with a wealth of wonderful shared experiences, information, letters, advice and very unique personal data and photographs. A full programme is available from myself for the Reunion. Starting with afternoon tea at Foulsham provided by the village on Friday 13th, it progresses from there to dinner in the evening, through to a main dress dinner Saturday evening, and a very moving parade service Sunday morning, this year including the introduction of a new 100 Group standard. So in answer to the question of where is the Reunion, it is all different places in Norfolk because we gather at different airfields with wreaths to remember those who did not return, as well as sharing village teas both at Foulsham and Oulton. It is a very moving and very emotional and wonderful weekend ... not to be missed! People come from all over the world for this event, probably around 70 people.

I hope you can feel my passion for this Association. It has become my life. It has saved my life ... and the people who make up the Association have become very dear to me. I continue to be proud and privileged to be a part.

Any further information please just ask.

And thanks again for making me so welcome ... www.cnam.co.uk is the website for the Museum on which we have a space just about to be updated.

Welcome Halibag1169. I'm glad to see you are based in Scotland despite my frequent quips about the Jocks! There are plenty of relics on many of the military airfields of Scotland and I hope that you can provide information and photographs.

But first, you will have to explain your choice of User Name; there must be a story there.

Hi all,

Just a quick line to introduce myself. I'm a serving member of the RAF, just pasted by 35 year point. Been posted to a number of stations within the UK and overseas (Germany, Gib & Oman). Hopefully I can add to the excellent posts already on the site.

Thanks MIck
