Welcome to AiX Podman; you live in a good location for WW2 airfields.

Welcome to AiX Steve, we have a few other USA members but not from California. It's good to know that there are still some WW2 vets around; I wish your uncle long life and good health.

Welcome to AiX Geoff, I was part of the RAF Bomb Disposal team who carried out the 'clearance' of the former bomb stores at Dunkeswell in the mid '60s. The locals spun the usual tale about aircraft and vehicles being buried on site by the US Forces. There would be some truth in it but probably small stores and scrap.

A friend kindly let me use her photobucket account to hopefully download some photos of Biggin Hill (under construction) in Second Life if this doesn't work - it's not the only thing that will be going in a bucket LOL
