Nice Steve, I need to get back to one of these again. The last (and only time) was great.

There was some very rare gems parked up in the static at the Cosford Airshow a couple of weeks ago....Certainly wont be seeing these parked up outside in the static parks at any other airshows anywhere -

Just a shame they weren't on the flying list ;)

Always in my mind in 1956 was the description of the FD2 prepared for it's record breaking speed run as being painted 'polychromatic purple'. Metalflake finishes are 'Old hat ' now but innovative then.

They would have been a great subject for a drone shot from about 20ft looking down at 30º. From the ground you miss most of the aircraft.
Nice to see them out rather than crammed in a hangar.

A strange sounding helicopter flew over this afternoon and judging by the four castors hanging below it was a Westland Wasp! Not seen one of those for a few decades.

This was later followed by a Rapide and a Chipmunk which we see quite often. I also thought I heard an Airship but it was a neighbour was testing his new lawnmower on his patio (no grass cutting sound).

A few of mine from cloudy Fairford yesterday, though the sun did break through briefly a couple of times.

This is the new F35 doing it's stuff but sadly only the American one, ours had some problem.
