Just Jane with her tail up 2001. This is from a set of table-mats that I bought from the souvenir shop at East Kirkby many years ago. They have NEVER been used as such !

This was for a TV programme - now what was it as I did video it at the time but never watched it.

I seem to remember that it received a fair amount of criticism. I watched it mostly for the aircraft scenes, and not the bad acting by (Callan) Edward Woodward, and Co...

I have a DVD-RW copy of it that I taped off-air to VHS originally (dated 02/02/2002).

My sleeve notes tell me that Radio Times billed it as..... "Drama starring Christopher Plummer and Edward Woodward. Set in 1943 and the present day, it tells the story of a Lancaster bomber pilot who meets a former comrade at a cenotaph commemoration 50 years later."

Yes it was a pretty awful programme,but the clip I do remember enjoying was shot inside looking aft during the 'take off roll' !

Googling '"night flight" dvd 2002' will find stockists. Omitting '2002' finds the earlier version - before the Lancaster was even though of!

If all you want is NX611 just buy the set of DVD's from East Kirkby about the history of Just Jane, the tail up sequence is on one of the 3 DVD's I can't remember which one.

I would love to see another Lanc in the air but seem to recall back in her Scampton days visits from BBMF exchanging parts to keep theirs flying, so she might require a lot more work than at first thought?
