I dunno where the Lancs Oxy charging point is situated, but is the rear bomb bay wall a possibility? Here's a recent snap from E Kirkby. Sorry for the exterior flare, it was a v bright day.
Could be. I had a look in my copy of The Lancaster Manual, but there is v little on the oxygen system. A schematic diagram gives nothing, and a cutaway notes only that a "crate" (their word) of bottles is hung on the port fuselage between the rear door and turret. Maybe it was topped up internally by someone who had to be in the aircraft to do it?
i had a look in Lancaster archives its about the only system not covered by the tech section of the site ; I beleive the bank of cylinders/ bottles on the ring main were under the rest couch ???
Oxygen charging point is a pipe connection on I think either the port or stbd side bombay valance above the bombdoors at the c section for charging the c section crew rest cage that contains the oxy bottels.
