The new war memorial in Poringland (South Norfolk)
It is located in the former Leisure Garden, now The Memorial Garden, adjacent to All Saints churchyard in the north. The new memorial was dedicated on 8 November 2016 and incorporates the names from both WW1 and WW2. It replaces the old WW2 memorial (dedicated on 1 August 1948) which had become quite derelict.

This Gravestone is more poignant than a memorial, not a standard"commonwealth war grave" it tells of a young man who took 12 days to die of his wounds inflicted in France Weeks before the Armistice. It is in the grave yard of the Warwickshire Parish of Preston Bagot.

This churchyard memorial in the Oxfordshire village of Barford St Michael has a presumably retrospective mention of a victim of the Zulu war in 1882 ,which when the memorial was erected was nearer in time than the end of the Second World War is to us in 2017.

Would you rather be remembered as gloriously dead or as one of our brave lads? This memorial in St Marys churchyard in the Warwickshire village of Cubbington chose the latter and to my late20th century sensibilities it seems the choice i would have made.

The Warwickshire village of Berkswell is famous for its ancient church, this may have influenced the gothic design of this memorial pavilion which resembles a shrine.

Apparently the Worcestershire village of Wolverley built a memorial hall as a monument for its fallen in the Great War , this modern memorial obviously supplements it as well as allowing you to post letters in the letter box which in from the reign of King George and must predate the plinth.

The churchyard of St James in the Warwickshire village of Old Milverton near Royal Leamington Spa is full of memorials to well of Victorians who came to Leamington and died and I think is where Vera Brittain is buried Though i could not find a memorial for her. This memorial is for those in the services who did not return.
