Hi Jim - certainly a superb painting - and welcome. What's the location - Pembroke Dock perhaps ?

Plan A is always more effective when the problem you are working on understands that Plan B will involve the use of dynamite

PS one of my Marine paintings MAC ship GADILA operated and manned by the Dutch Navy, Swordfish from the DutchFleet Air Arm.
Below the flight deck she is still a Merchant Ship, in this case a Tanker

Welcome to AiX Jim and thanks for a view of your watercolours. I note too that you are based in Scotland home still on a number of well preserved military airfields.

I shall see if I have anything on Dundee (Stannersgate) buried in my archives.

Hi PNK and Peter, any pics of Stannergate would be helpful, you are right about the number of airfieldc around here, I think the nearest in a straight line would be Balado then Errol, just across the Tay. Woodhaven is close as well, in a 25 mile radius there must be dozens.
I'll shift to the Scottish section now.
Regards Jim

Sounds like a plan, I do tend to work most weekends but as long as I have a couple weeks notice I should be able to sort something. Someone pick a date and I will book it off, earlier in Dec. the better for me.

Welcome to Steve.....and also to say I'm up for joining an airfield(s) tour. I've been lodging in Kings Lynn and am just about to move house up here from Kent. Sundays suit me best as they're my only guaranteed day off (though I also get rostered days off in the week from time to time).

Cheers, John

If it moves, shout at it....if it doesn't, paint it !
