Welcome to AiX Robyn, you are located in the centre of the Biggin Hill - Gravesend - West Malling triangle; plenty of WW2 history there and some famous RAF names too.
My name is Martin currently researching the locations of United States Army Hospitals in the UK during the war. Any help or assistance required in locating a particular hospital site please feel free to contact me I have a pretty comprehensive archive of most of the sites used by the U.S Army during the war, and likewise if you are happy to share information I would be happy to receive it and discuss the topic with you...
Welcome Martin. I was wondering if you have any information on a US hospital site at Roche, Cornwall, part of the H14 camp prior to D Day. There are a couple of Nissen huts now used as sheds/garages in private gardens and I was wondering if they are left over from the US Army.
Welcome to AiX, we already share a huge amount of information on the forums and we'd welcome anything you can add to it. USAAF Hospitals are mentioned on the forums but this is a subject that would be great to expand further and your input would be very welcome.
I edit the Airfield Review magazine, which is the quarterly journal of the Airfield Research Group and gets sent to those who subscribe to it. If you are interested in seeing any or your researh in print then please let me know.
Enjoy the forum and I look forward to seeing your posts
Thanks Ref and Tigger for the welcome and also the reassurance about walking around the airfield.. I hope to visit in a couple of weeks and take my camera.
Hi Martin - wondered if you were the Martin I contacted a few years ago re the four Malvern Hospitals? The same guy who has published a series of interesting books? Welcome to the forum.
Plan A is always more effective when the problem you are working on understands that Plan B will involve the use of dynamite
