Finds and UXBs!

Your not secretly putting one together at Deenethorpe then Paul.

Deenethorpe will safely take a Fort still (we would have had Sally B operating from there for a couple of days for an event on site a year or two ago, but plans changed), but the hangars aren't quite big enough nowadays.

Patio lights.......hmmm..... One thing I was wondering, these lights have what appears to be a blue filter that sits over the bulb, what other colours are there?

The blue filter would indicate they are taxiway lights.

There will be clear ones but they are bigger and a different design. There is plenty of info on the lighting part of the forum which might give you a few ideas!

Nice finds Paul but that ironing board must be sagging from the loads!

The ironing board certainly wasn't too keen on the seatback armour, then again neither was my car...

Something you may find of interest Peter, a nice No.37 tail pistol, a 1941 Mk.III updated to a Mk.IV in 1942:



Complete with an intact delay ampoule!



The striker mechanism and anti-withdrawal components have long since gone sadly, along with the arming fork assembly, but if I'm lucky I'll have some of those parts in the spares box. Either that or just put some storage caps on and hide the innards.

I probably have spare parts in my collection but they are boxed in UK storage. I managed to collect almost the full range of RAF bomb pistols. A few fuzes due to having to safe them by removing the gaines or firing them off. A few USAF fuzes but many of those found were so badly corroded as to be not worth saving. The RAF brass always looks nice when cleaned up and has solid 'heft'.
