I'm afraid it's not in county order - a big mistake when I started 17 years ago, however, I do hope to reorganise it by county, but I have another 510 references to chase up (including extracting depots from your Army lists of camps !), find any useful details and incorporate them, so 'completion' may be a while. For the present, I'm happy to send a copy on request. The list is in Word, about 1.5MB or over 300 pages
I have received John's 'list' and the document runs to well over 300 pages in Word. A labour of love over the years! I just know that it will help with many of my 'loose' ends' and, in turn, I will be able to feed back positive corrections and additional info to John. This is a professional document with sources included and I commend it to those who have a interest in military establishments.
Hmmm what to say, well am a life long aviation fanantic, I grew up from the age of about four being fascinated with warplanes (it helped having a carvan 10 miles from Leuchars), I ended up being coming a air cadet , then serving six years as a Armourer on 43sqn.
As for intrests, I like most things in the military aviation world but I have a strong penchant for the cold war era , cant explain it but after reading red storm rising when I was 13, I became fascinated with the period especially the 70's and 80's. I was well chuffed to work in a HAS site in my time in the RAF ,I had a good rummage around Machrahanish Airfield whislt on air cadet camp, and I have explored various ROC posts and been in a couple of goverment bunkers.
