Hi Simon, welcome to the forum! I am not far from you, near Diss but Suffolk side of the border!! There is a few of us 'East Anglians' on the forum now which is great, a few of us meet up at times and go out looking at the airfields. I'll look forward to seeing your photos. How long have you been exploring the old airfields?

Hi, thanks for your reply. I have been expolring the old fields for about three years now, its nice to know that if you look hard enough you will still find a surprise or two. I would be very keen to join you guys for visits, most of the time I find myself wandering around on my own, would be good to have some company.
You'd be more than welcome to join us. Not sure when the next outing is though - I tend to go out alot during the week as I work most weekends but a number of guys on here are out at weekends! Its quite suprising what is still lurking when you get out there, I keep finding new things as well!
About me......had a general interest in aviation for many years, particularly WW2. Got into old airfields a couple of years ago on a holiday to north Norfolk. Had a good look around Bircham Newton, North Creake, Oulton, Foulsham, Swannington, Langham and Matlaske. I've also visited Kelstern, Wombleton, Morpeth, Scorton and Dunino and Crail in Fife. Lucky enough to get early retirment recently so hopefully more visits on the cards!
And welcome also from another 'local' Simon - ! I'm based in Norwich and although I've been trawling Norfolk airfields on and off for about forty ( arrgghh - ! ) years, and as you observe, it is still surprising what can be found. Only last Friday on a day, out we found an unrecorded light AA emplacement which any number of folk must have walked straight past without noticing - ! Be good to get together for a trip out sometime.

Hi Simon, Welcome to the Forum. Would be good to see some of the photographs that you have taken of the old airfields over the last few years. Nothing better than wandering around the old airfields of East Anglia and Lincolnshire.
