I am trying to find drawings and photographs of the SSQ site at RAF Ashbourne. I'm a bit puzzled as none of the drawing numbers appear on the 1941 listing.
4569/41 SSQ
3938/41 SSQ Annexe. Why have an annexe?
13207/41 Ambulance garage and mortuary
14423/41 Barrack Hut
4566/41 Picket post

There are large gaps in the sequences of all the yearly lists, simply as we haven't come across the title or description for the missing numbers.
Should they turn up they can be added as and when we get the time.

SSQ Annexes are normally the gas decontamination and treatment block, adjacent to the main SSQ building and often directly connected to it by a corridor.
Can you confirm this is a /41 number please? I only ask as 3938/42 is the Temp Brick SSQ Annexe listed on the Kimbolton RSP.

Some will be held by the RAF Museum at Hendon (RAFM). There are a number in various folders at The National Archives (TNA) in Kew but these are not searchable as individual drawing numbers. In addition I have come across a few plans in assorted files related to the file subject and again these are not identifiable via a TNA search and I didn't record them.
I suspect many will have been lost or not deemed worthy of saving.

That's a right pain, I have a 15586/40 Ops block at Cluntoe and had the dumb idea of trying to find out what all the different room were for. I know there's a plan on here showing the layout and the ops room, boiler room and ventilation but loads more unaccounted for....sure never mind, thanks for the help
