Graham, I can't find any reference to F.C.W. in relation to St Athan Watch Office (with tower, 'Fort' type 1959/34), also wouldn't really square with it being ARD, ASU, & Tech School.
I was surprised by St Athan too. It's in NP's Control Towers as 1959/34, 12096/41 and FCW 4514? Note the '?'.

Ahh, do you remember when the St Athan thread first started? NP thought that the current tower was, or based on a WWII design, with some good reasoning it has to be said - until I proved otherwise!
Sadly just the 'Fort' and the current 'Split Vertical' types have existed there.
It is a hugely confusing subject, there are even standard buildings that don't always seem to use the standard drawing number, example Aircraft Shed Type L which are E.1633D.
I'm not convinced that this number is actually a general one for the building.
E1633A, B and C relate to stress/loading on L-type sheds (though this doesn't prove that 'D' is also stress/loading details!)
Another series of numbers beginning with an E -
E3300/xx (where xx seems to be a single digit followed by a capital letter)
These all seem to relate to the sheeting on 1943 blister structures.
Several examples on RSPs where the drawing number seems almost to have been randomly plucked from a pool of numbers relating to the actual building eg. a later modification rather than the original number.
Having checked with the RAFM they have no plans of any range related buildings. There are a few in scattered TNA files but none of the Air ministry type quadrant shelters, despite knowing the drawing numbers for quite a few types. Also nothing on other range related buildings like searchlight platforms or generator buildings or ambulance sheds.
I suspect nobody thought they were worth saving

I've seen a drawing of at least one type of Quadrant Shelter in the bumf at the Archive.
Unfortunately it's not been catalogued as yet, but we're working on that.
