Finds and UXBs!

I'm at work at the moment, so don't have details to hand, i'll list the numbers later, there too many to photograph.

I've got all the other documents I want, but the parts list is the only bit of reference material I need, I assume you've got it pdf?

Also Paul, what do you use to clean your finds with please?

I have an original print somewhere in the collection, but to take out on sites I bought a PDF on CD from a chap in Australia a while back.
Although it's the 1955 edition it doesn't cover all B-17G sub-types or even Douglas or Lockheed-Vega variations so you have to cross-check and use the part number sequences to work out likely differences.
It doesn't even cover the Cheyenne tail position, apparently that was supposed to be in a seperate TO and never got incorporated properly.

Cleaning finds: hot soapy water and an old toothbrush in the main, fine wire wool on certain items where appropriate.

I found half a type 69 hand grenade (the bakelite type) whilst out walking with the wife at Southwold beach-not an airfield I know, i'll photo it and post.

Yes-that is the type 69-I found the bottom half, with the filler plug and the spacer. It has the green painted line round it, showing it was a 'live' specimen and not a practice. Nice drawing.

There were several 'Marks' which made some minor differences. All you need now is the empty top half and you have a nice trophy!

Were these lamps actual airfield finds Jerry?

They look like railway oil lamps I have a similar one with 3 colours White, Red & blue mine is stamped 'BR'
