Thanks Peter. That's the second railway line noted within the last seven days that (part) disappeared pre Beeching.

Callerton near Woolsington , 26 January 2018 ;

The Wheat Sheaf Hotel is now part of the Premier Inn .

The railway line now forms part of the Tyne and Wear Metro system and terminates one stop down at Newcastle Airport .
This station is Callereton Parkway .

Callerton Cottages next to what was Callerton railway station .

I'm not sure if this wall was part of the depot boundary wall ?

The site of the camp on Middle Drive as seen in Post#89 by PETERTHEEATER can still be discerned by the surviving access road and easily seen on GE .

Richard, can you put up a list of those depots that have NOT been located please. There cannot be many left and I would like to see the final few identified.

Quite agree, Peter.

This was AMWD Depot No. 61 under Area No. 6, Market Drayton. It was classed as a minor depot.

The postal address was Pwllheli, quite some way away to the south, but, the listed station was Dinas Junction.

I'm hoping that the following list is correct and shows sites that require further investigation. Forgive me if sites appearing here have previously been identified, but, I think that it is substantially fairly sound:-

Ingham, Suffolk
Ashford, Kent
Darlington, Durham
Filton, Gloucestershire
Havant, Hampshire
Newton Stewart, Wigtownshire
Chippenham, Wiltshire
Tranent, Midlothian
Sulby, Isle of Man
Antrim, Co antrim
Dungannon, Co Tyrone

CHIPPENHAM, Wiltshire

This was Depot No. 122, under Works Area No. 12, Bristol. In its time, it featured as both a major and minor depot.

The station listed was Chippenham. The postal address was Pew Hill. NGR possibly ST 922747, or, 924745.

Ignoring the large Westinghouse Factory to the south of Pew Hill, there is a likely area just to the left of the marker Pew Hill, but, this was possibly a small housing estate, please see wtp2.appspot.com/wheresthepath.htm

This highlights the area a little more (from Old-maps)

The legacy of heroes is the memory of a great name and the inheritance of a great example. Benjamin Disraeli.
